SOMEBODY: Suicide Prevention Campaign
In the Fall of 2023, Ed Lally Foundation (ELF) launched the SOMEBODY Suicide Prevention Campaign to remind individuals that they are not alone in their mental health struggles, and to encourage them to reach out for support.
The campaign itself was inspired by the song “Somebody” from musicians turned mental health advocates Big Infinite. The band’s been playing the song live and in-person over the last year at ELF’s “Power of Expression” mental health awareness and suicide prevention events, everywhere from schools to libraries to military bases.
The SOMEBODY campaign aims to expand the impact of the song and its mental health message throughout social media and beyond through a variety of online content normalizing mental health struggles and highlighting local support resources like 1-800-NEXT-STEP and national resources like the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
The SOMEBODY campaign will also feature partnerships with individuals and organizations to help amplify our suicide prevention efforts, including a recent collaboration with the Hope Squad which will serve to bring SOMEBODY's mental health message the thousands of Hope Squad students nationwide.
Additionally, we're excited to announce the release of a short film and music video for SOMEBODY from director Jessica Cleaver and filmmaker Tommy Duncan focused specifically on Men’s Mental Health. Check it out below!
