"Eddie Boy" - A Love More Way...
Big Infinite - our resident mental health rock band - has released a brand new single today entitled “Eddie Boy”. Touching on themes of hopefulness, self-healing, depression and suicide loss, this beautiful song fulfills our foundations mission to de-stigmatize mental health struggles and promote a proactive approach to mental wellness.
The song carries with it a message that we often share with suicide loss survivors during monthly support group meetings and periodic retreats:
The brain is an organ just like the heart. In much the same way that an unhealthy heart can lead to a heart attack, suicide is the culmination of a brain disease/disorder, not a conscious choice from a healthy mind.
This simple, but powerful message is intended to remove the stigma that so often complicates and compounds the grief that suicide loss survivors' experience. Together, Big Infinite and the Ed Lally Foundation have launched the “Eddie Boy” campaign to help this song reach as many survivors as possible. If you’d like to support the campaign, share the song directly with those you know who have lost a loved one to suicide, and post the song with a personal message of support on your social media channels.
